Big shoutout to the cosplay creators and players out there. Some of the outfits are so believable that you feel that the character is right there with you. They help with bringing the event to life. Asking* players if you can take a selfie with them helps record those memories. *Please be friendly, courteous, and respectful.
Some reach celebrity status by being very good and featured in the Con. They can have photo-ops and booths. Here are a few examples.
Many create their characters. You can see the hard work to bring the suit together. A good example is in Terrifier 2 with Sienna Shaw.
Check the schedule and see if any contests are happening on your visit. You rarely see all the players as you partake in the event. So, if you are not planning to compete in the contest, seeing others and voting on your favorites is fun.
You can cosplay without having to make a big production outfit. It's just fun to be a part of the atmosphere. Put some things together. Make or buy a costume, or put on make-up.
